An all year round holiday destination

We are often asked, "what is the best time to rent a property on the Costa Blanca or Cálida?". One thing is certain, our Costas have a lot to offer in every season and are truly an all year round holiday destination. There are many reasons for this including lots of sunshine, a host of salt lakes, the healthiest climate in all of Europe (according to the World Health Organisation), many excellent facilities, a very varied culture and a rich range of sports and leisure facilities.

Furthermore, the Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida have the mildest winters on the Spanish mainland. Only 4 months of the year the average daytime temperature dips below 20 degrees. The thermometer does drop to an average of around 16 degrees during the day in January and February, although that is no obstacle to fully enjoying the outdoor lifestyle. Golf, terrace visits, bike rides, hiking and day trips are all available the whole year round.

Holidaymakers and winter visitors

The months of July and August are traditionally the busiest periods for vacations. However, other months are also very popular. Many people with health complaints such as asthma and skin and joint disorders come and spend time here especially in spring and late summer. They like to take advantage of the climate and enjoy the healing effects of the mud baths in many of our salt lakes.

There are also many hibernators who escape their grey and bleak homeland in winter to relax and recharge on our Costas. Some join native speaking clubs for activities such as hiking, billards, cycling, tennis and so on. 

Our region is also extremely popular with a growing army of golf enthusiasts, who are now coming all year round to play on many of the fantastic golf courses here in our region.
